CAMP Visits Horry County Academy for Technology and Academics

Cathy Honeycutt, CAMP's Diveristy Chairperson, visited Horry County Academy for Technology and Academics to introduce a new Third District program which targets high school kids. The Third District Diversity programs seeks to fulfill two goals. The first is to simply engage and excite all students about the amazing careers found in advertising. The second is to offer minority students a chance to take a peek inside the industry with our Minority Intern Scholarship. The class that Cathy worked with were students who want to go into electronic design, broadcasting and other creative areas.

Horry County Academy for Technology and Academics is for individuals from all over Horry County, who want to pursue a career in a technical field such as computers, internet or game designing, broadcasting and more. These high school students would not get this type of education in a regular high school setting and this school prepares them for technical, special technology schools and college. These are teenagers who otherwise might have fallen through the cracks of the education system but have great potential in various areas. The students tend to be of diversity. Finding outlets for their talents is paramount in providing a quality education and the foundation for the future.
